I bought the LOTR version of this when it went on sale a couple of weeks ago. Is there not a Hobbit Deluxe version?

The ones mentioned above match a different set.

The hobbit one is for preorder now - releases in October. It was cheaper last week with target's buy 2 get 1 free (could get it down to around $100)

Having finally finished this after several attempts I can say it is worth the time put into it. Make the lore in LOTR much more rich and lets you understand what Gandalf (and Sauron) are. Along with setting up the themes that permeate the other books. It is well worth the understanding.

I specifically ordered this from another retailor as I can't support Amazon for what they did (and continue to do) with Rings of Power. May change my stance if they do a 180 and not destroy lore and characters in season 2, but I don't have my hopes up.

In don't own this version but I just finished my 4th or 5th pass through the Silmarillion, this time as a clean sweep of the legendarium. People dog it all the time about how awful it is to read but I will tell you first hand it's 100% story and the story keeps moving. What's difficult is that all the names and place names are almost entirely new to the reader. And some people have multiple names. That's what makes it overwhelming at first. But if you can just track Feanor's family, or any time they say the Noldor, think Feanor, you are good. I agree with the other commentator that it enriches the trilogy but also these stories are a treasure trove in their own right.

For those interested my chronological clean sweep entails:
-The Silmarillion (stop before Gondolin is sacked (which is only mentioned, the tale isn't told))
-Unfinished Tales (the section of Tuor coming to Gondolin, beautiful descriptions of the jeweled gates)
- The Fall of Gondolin (published separately, full story told)
-The Silmarillion (to finish)
-The Hobbit (read by Nicol Williamson for an extra treat https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ggm7XM-3dF8 )
-The Trilogy
