Thanks for the deal and promo code. I have an older TP-link DECO and it's working well but I needed additional units to cover outside areas like my RV in driveway. Will swap for this one and hopefully the older units will still integrate as extension hubs. The app the manage them seems to work well and not too intrusive.

Maybe it's targeted? Did you get error code? Remember Amazon changed the way to enter promo codes during payment page so it's hard to find the right place each time.

Have to say that of all the home net routers/hubs I've had, the Deco I have has been the easiest to install and integrate. And honestly I don't really want to spend time dealing with that sort of stuff so I'm happy if it works well, seems secure enough, and is easy to add to. But I needed more access points to widen the area, and my plan is to swap in to the new system which will hopefully be even better. and then see if the older unit will work on places like garage and outside deck to cover more of the yard and driveway.

How does this compare to the AXE5300 or AXE5400 models?

I just bought the AXE5300 from Costco, but will be replacing them with these once they arrive. Liking the 2.5gb port and the fact it's a 2024 released product

You can get the AXE5400 (2.5gb ports) at Best Buy right now on sale for $299.99 and if you trade in an old router/modem/gateway of any kind you get another 15% off bringing it to $255+tax. I traded in an old att DSL modem from about 15 years ago.

This one also has the 2.5Gbps port. TP-Link released this as the newer version of the 5400, despite naming it the 4900

Good info. I'm having a hard time keeping things straight between the different Deco products.

If this is indeed just a slightly updated version of the AXE5300/5400, then this is a nice deal on what should be a great product. After gawking but not pulling the trigger for way too long, I can say I'm really happy with the AXE5300 I got when it was on sale at Costco for a bit more than this. After several months, I don't think they've needed a single reboot, coverage is excellent, even outside, and speeds are very good. I can't imagine anything else being any better, especially at this price.

Agreed my 3 pack from eBay has been solid. I do reboot them occasionally because they are behind an opnsense box which updates frequently

Mine has also worked quite well. I think I did have to make an adjusted for an older device in the Deco app though because it kept dropping. If I recall I just limited it to the 2.4GHz network.

Anyone have a w7200 or x68 (very good) they came from that can comment on the dedicated wireless backhaul stability of 6ghz channel comparatively?
