Nice useful gadget used it with insignia tv to switch between laptop and watching fire strick. Doesn't seem to work though with samsung smart monitor which uses a not generic hdmi cable

yes, I get a 4k 60fps signal, not sure about HDR, but if they say it has HDR in the product page you can trust it
