No, I posted two. One for the Econic and the next day for the slim. I've had both on my water drinking desert animal tracker as I've been replacing the lights. I was just curious as my deal alert went off for hue.

I used to really enjoy my Hue lights, but I started to get turned off from them years ago when they were all dependent on the light switch having to be in the on position. I've now gone back to dumb lights that are controlled via Lutron Caseta smart switched.

1) Has anyone tried mixing Hue lights with Lutron Caseta switches? I had some issues at first finding can lights that worked well with them and allowed proper dimming.
2) Is there any other solution than that box Hue makes you can install behind a switch? They looked too big for my boxes where I have three switches in one.

Any input is really appreciated, thanks!

To #2, the hue behind the switch things are smaller in person than they look online fwiw. But what I wound up doing is getting zigbee switches, wiring the light to be always on, and then using home assistant to relay the switch control to the lights. It's been rock solid for over a year now.

Wish these had a higher lumen. I'll end up going with the 100w in a can instead.

I'm looking to transition a basement with 12 "generic" slim downlight cans w/ SmartThings-enabled light switches to a solid Homekit-connected setup. Having done minimal research into the ecosystem (and liking the Philips Hue lights/connections I have elsewhere in the home) I assumed these would be my opportunity to switch over.

That said, I don't need the color changing feature and really just want to be able to integrate the lights into Homekit for better reliability/integration. Even with this discount I'm starting to think perhaps I should be going a different direction (a la Lutron Caseta switches as mentioned above)...anyone willing to provide their opinion on the best way to invest going forward for such a goal? Any advice would be appreciated!

You could use Shelly behind the switch, and use the state to communicate with Home Assistant to do the light controls via zigbee.

Looks like there is a big power brick that you need to hide in your ceiling. If you are replacing an existing light that is mounted to a box, then that is going to be a problem.

Had Caseta + Hue in our old house. Used Caseta on off switches vs dimmers and then used homekit to dim lights when needed. Hope that helps

Isn't this high? What's your minimum to be considered high lumen?

1600 lumens, which would match the dumb led bulbs I have installed currently.

Interesting. I had the generic slim recessed stuff installed in my house when we bought it and I have no idea what is in the ceiling lol. I was going to have a handyman switch them all out for hue whenever we get to that point!
