$50 less than this deal posted yesterday (or the day before). I'm not motivated by the 1080p 60Hz screen in a "Pro" laptop.
Why not? High refresh rates are mainly for gaming. If you're doing, say photo or video editing, do you need higher than 60 Hz? Also, this is the budget variant of the series, there is another model with Core i9 and 2.8K 120Hz display which costs a bit higher

Wrong - in your mind, that's how you see it. I don't game at all, but I appreciate the smooth scrolling that higher refresh rates give. Also moving windows around -- the whole UI/UX is better on a high refresh rate screen.
I don't care if it's a budget variant or not. It's like the base model MacBook Pro coming with a spinning hard drive instead of a solid state drive! It's a "PRO' laptop and should have better than the most basic screen specs.

I wish I could see it. I mean I guess it's a blessing that I can't 😂 but I honestly can't tell the difference in a 120 or 60hz screen. TBH I prefer my 1080p screen over my 1440p for font too.
It's definitely a ymmv territory for which works best for people. Anyway thanks for posting the link to it cheaper.
I need everything I can come up with to hold on to not buy a laptop right now lol. I'm hoping copilot ones will be able to handle light gaming. I'm fine with 30 fps and low settings. I'm a filthy casual when it comes to mobile gaming.
Mostly just want it for when I'm flying, in a hotel room, or like right now stuck in a hospital room. At home I'll never use it except the odd time my wife wants me to sit on the couch next to her.

lol I'm not joking. The font on the 1440 is so small. If I increase the size in windows it makes the 1080 giant. So I'm out of luck either way. I usually throw games and movies on 1440 and text/email/web on the 1080

Settings>Display>Scaling to 200%.
You need to relax for a moment & breath. There is a clear difference between 60hz to 120hz+. Either you didn't enable it or your vision needs checking

Are you using one 1080p and one 1440p at the same time? Maybe that's your problem.

Yeah it's the issue. I'm running dual monitor setup and just never bothered to upgrade the second screen since I only use it to toss YouTube up when playing games.

I'm this price range it's hard to find OLED plus 4050 or 4060. I'm looking for a 4060 cause the 3050 while a huge step up from integrated graphics, can't run even some isometric games maxed out.
The Legion Slim 14.5" OLED with 4060 for $1000 was a much better deal.

Back in March, this is what you could get for less money than this model:

The CREATOR series for graphic artists/photo/video. Note the 2.8K 120Hz OLED display.
