Shared 15w between all 3 ports, and you're supporting a company that cares so very little about honesty and your privacy.

I think he's saying that because Anker and Eufy are the same company and Eufy had some issues with their security/privacy and behing honest about those issues.

Anker power strip got a terrible rating in a Wirecutter review - https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutte...protector/

Anker owns Eufy.

Eufy had a serious breach of privacy regarding their security cameras, and they lied about the severity and response the entire time.

If you buy from Anker, you're supporting a company that doesn't care about promises, conduct, or privacy.

Serious is very loose wording. They had a setting on by default that sent thumbnails to the cloud so people could see who was picked up by the camera in a phone notification. They also had video stored online where if you hacked into their servers it wasn't encrypted and could be decoded by a VLC player. They made the default on thumbnail description better and fixed the encryption within 48 hours and took thirty days to apologize. If you've ever delt with a legal corporate department you'll know thirty days is pretty quick, especially when publicly admitting to issue that, if they had been hacked by anyone but the ethical hacker who was the source of the story and all follow-ups, could've put personal security video at risk. Mind you this happened 18 months ago now and they have even earned back all of the ratings and recommendations they had lost with that snafu. Considering the things that their competition has been caught doing they are still the best for a cloud free, subscription free experience.

If you're serious about protecting your electronics, get something like this instead. It's worth the extra money.

useless junk, get a proper whole house Surge Protection Device installed instead
Whole house surge protectors are meant to be used in conjunction with this type. Those have a much higher clamping voltage and also won't protect from surges originating from within the house.

Assuming we're thinking of the same incident, I think you're underselling the severity. It's been a while, so I'm not certain I'm remembering all the details correctly but I clearly remember thinking it was a huge breach of trust. I believe they basically outright lied about how their products worked. They made explicit claims that contrasted their products from most others in the market, which not only turned out to be untrue but also ended up with serious vulnerabilities. I came away thinking there was no way I'd ever trust such claims from them again. I was quite disappointed because I'd previously held Anker in high regard.

You post this on every page like you were affected directly...I'm sure they will tell everyone all the things you plug into your surge protector...

In the meantime, I am loving my Eufy Security System and paying no monthly fee.heart

Guys, if you want to talk about the breach, post a few articles and let the readers draw their conclusions.

I'm looking for a multi power strip, that has separate individual on / off switches for each outlet. Any recommendations ? Using it for gaming devices and electronics so needs to be safe and reliable
