I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.

Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

is the tarde in problem only with straight talk prepaid phones sold by walmart ?
People can have trade in issues for other reasons (they forget to reset device, etc), but the main issue reported here seems to be many people who bought the cheapest phone to trade in that Walmart sells but Walmart did not properly process the purchases with the phone carrier.

Has anyone had success challenging if they come back denying due to the phone condition? 1/4 of my Lcd display is shot. Spectrum chat told me to mail it in. I also went to a store and had an employee give me the thumbs up. I took a video of the phones condition while in the store and mailed it off right from there. I am concerned they will deny it and then I am in that return period bind everyone else is worried about.
as long the value is >$1 then you'll get the $700.

I am in the same boat, sent Moto G play 2023 yesterday as is without activating it for trad in which I purchased online from Walmart . what should I do to avoid trad in rejection?
You might want to read the past few pages, but it sounds like there is a way to check the device IMEI on the Straight Talk website. If it shows as valid to register, then it is good, if not then you can try contacting Straight Talk to fix. Others who still have their device seem to also be going back to Walmart if they have the issue to have them process the purchase correctly.

Since this phone with spectrum is a preorder, does the preorder date considered the purchase date or the date they shipped the phone to us? I am trying to figure out when they start counting the start of the 14 day return period. Perhaps it's the date of the order confirmation email and when they charged the credit card..

My concern is the entire screen will crap out and they will say the phone is dead, when really the screen just needs replaced (either way)

Just went to Walmart with the original motorola box and did a return and rebuy. Now the phone shows it will activate on the straight talk site, and also now have a paper receipt which shows the IMEI number on it in case theres any issues with the trade in.

my moto g play 2024 which I traded in shows "pending payment" when I try to trade in again to see if it accepts .

Pending payment is from spectrum though, does that mean they took it?

I had a chat with Straighttalk guy and he created a ticket and asked me to send the order and phone details to an email.
After doing this, did you go past step 8 (actually activating the phone on a plan), or did you just get the IMEI released so that it COULD be activated somewhere? Would that be good enough?

A little late, but I at least updated the Wiki.

This whole Walmart Moto phones have been such a fiasco. My sympathies to everyone that is getting screwed over because to no one's surprise, Walmart not doing their job properly.

I am still waiting to get my IMEI released. Based on comments here, releasing IMEI should be good enough. No need to activate with a plan.
