Difference between the two:

- Odor Blasters has a scent to it & can leave a residue / persist More suitable for laundry type use.
- The regular Oxi clean you linked would be more suitable for kitchen use. It works like magic on stainless steel & organic stuff like tea/coffee stains. Doesn't really leave any residue or persist.

I was just there, they had a bigger container of it but I don't recall exactly what the price was. this <$2 per pound sounds about the right range.

Works for the regular/versatile version too:

OxiClean Versatile Stain Remover Powder, 5 lb https://a.co/d/8dpi1ho

Better price per lb:
OxiClean Versatile Stain Remover Powder, 7.22 lb https://a.co/d/5nKZgFf

Not sure which one is better at getting out stains or if they're the same in that regard…

We use this monthly to clean our HE front load washer. A little scoop keeps it from smelling and reduce the amount of mold forming in the rubber door boot. It doesn't eliminate it entirely though, unless you're religious with soaking up/drying water after every wash. We do keep the door and detergent compartment open after every wash though which seems to help.

Thanks, OP. Had a large S&S order in pieces so got the extra 15% off. Total came out to $6.97.

It requires heat to work well, so if your washer has a heating element in it and can maintain 120-140 degrees F, it will work well there. Use the longest and hottest cycle on your machine. Oxygen bleaches work poorly, if at all, in cool or cold water,

My understanding is you just need hot water to dissolve the coating on the granules and after that it works fine in cold water

Oxygen bleach (Oxiclean) release hydrogen peroxide and will slowly do so in cold water, but far less rapidly and efficiently. "Dry cleaner here to recommend using HOT water when doing powdered oxygen bleach soaks. Powdered oxygen bleach releases hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) which oxidizes your clothing and helps correct a stain's color.

This process works much better when oxygen bleach is exposed to high temperatures as it releases more hydrogen peroxide!

Protip - the longer the soak the better the results, try overnight for best results!"

I bought this last time and it really does a great job with removing odors and leaving a fresh scent. I usually use the free and clear but like this one a lot for laundry.
