I have plaque build up on my lower teeth in four days time that a toothbrush and floss cant remove because I wear retainers. I find it hard to believe I cant carefully scrape it off with the broad side of one of these instead of going to a dentist once a week or allowing the plaque to build up until a dentist removes it at a twice a year cleaning.

I'm a dentist and this is a bad idea. You can scratch something that shouldn't be scratched. See a professional instead.

My dentist recommended the gum stimulator to me and I've worn mine out. Hard to find a replacement at this price and the mirror may be useful. Agree that the pick is probably dangerous in the wrong hands.
