I would also please like someone's opinion about this comparison as I have not opened my Victus yet. Seems based on specs worth the extra $50 for larger drive, DDR5 memory, and extra NVMe slot? Screen seems to be no worse. Am I missing something here?

I'm thinking I might make the jump. I bought the Victus for my son for Christmas but am tempted to return it for this one.
This one has the larger hard drive and slightly better screen it. 350 vs 250 nits.
Better RAM is nice but was already looking at upgrading that so not sure if that should factor into me justifying the extra $50 for this one.

I wound up exchanging the Victus for the LOQ. The selling point for me was. The 1080p front facing camera (HP was 720), DDR5 (HP was DDR4) , and the 350 nits screen (HP was 250 I believe)… the 1tb hard drive was a plus but not a selling point for me. But for the other points mentioned that was worth the extra 50. Plus Lenovo makes a good quality product.

Lenovo, like other OEMs, advertise their product line configurations from exceeding certain thresholds in order to force prospective buyers into higher tiers. The vast majority of consumers never upgrade anything, so if Lenovo only offers this chassis with 16GB and you need more, then you have to look into their other SKUs.

There is no actual hardware or software limiting you from upgrading it though, unless it's a particular model with soldered RAM and no slots. Back in the Windows 7 days, Windows 7 Home Premium would only support up to 16GB, forcing you to upgrade to 7 Pro to get above that. Now the limit in software is like TBs of RAM...

Thank you. Looks like I will be returning the Victus as well. Already ordered through Lenovo. Pickup ready at Best Buy. Final difference of $24 for my zip code. Was around $600 for the Victus and $624 for this one. No brainer. Plus hoping for cashback through the cashback sites.
