When used with a guidepoint bit, these things are great for new construction, allowing you to hang full sheets then come back with this tool and quickly zip around door/window openings, electrical boxes, and other cut outs. No accurate measuring needed.

But they pretty much suck for making holes in old work. For that, just use a knife, drywall saw, or oscillating multi-tool.

Agreed, they do suck at old work. oscillating is the best.
