Just a heads up for anyone that doesn't know, these are pre-workout drinks. They're great before a workout, but if you're just looking for a pick-me-up during the day, these are full of beta-alanine. Beta-alanine causes paresthesia in the face, hands, and neck as a side effect in most people. Parasthesia is the feeling of pins and needles (similar to when your foot falls asleep). Everyone I know that's tried to drink one of these without working out has felt uncomfortable for an hour or two.

I personally hate this feeling. What's the benefit of beta alanine for lifting? Thanks!

It prevents muscle fatigue, so it increases the length of time you can weight train before your muscles turn to spaghetti.

The boring answer is that it helps your body create carnosine which helps lesson the amount of acid buildup in the body during workouts. This theoretically allows you to exercise harder and longer which would allow for more muscle growth. It supposedly can have an impact on slowing some aging but that seems to be speculation and not researched as far as I know.

Drawbacks - the tingling is really the only but I consider this a positive. My PWO when I need to reach new levels has both DMAA and Beta Alanine. (Once every 7-14 days so it doesn't lose its impact)

In an energy drink for simply energy, it isn't needed at all. It's super cheap to add it, along with a low grade creatine, to market it as a "workout" drink too.

What PWO are you getting that has DMAA?

I've never tried one that was as good as the old Jack3D.

Last one I really enjoyed was by Magnitude Sciences which was their PWO Dark Energy -- which was awesome and absolutely effective at boosting mood. They closed up shop and now I'm looking for a replacement.

Look up FitnessDealNews on YouTube for stim junkie pre-work reviews. DMAA is pretty much gone, but there are a LOT of good replacement ingredients that do the job.

And always remember.. labels are just labels 💪😉

Okay Peep-ple

Yeah I check that channel for PWO reviews, he seems very straight forward in his FDA-proof bunker.

I've narrowed it down between The Gulag and TimeCop. Leaning towards Gulag just for the mood. Probably will look for a sale

Some of us actually deal with this terrible condition which can trigger multiple things. For some UC flares.
