I was hesitating since there were several deals. One was express pro and the other was express impress.
Impress might be slower but tamping is built in. So much easier to make coffees. Biggest weakness of Breville machine is grinder but It still gives decent coffee. I went to homegood store and they are raised prices for Breville coffee machine by $50. Regular express version is $550 now.
Probably I made 400+ coffee by now and definitely I saved more money.
If you are really serious about coffee, one should get separate grinder and express machine but Breville is good machine for all in one.

Honestly, it has been less than impressive and sometimes aggravating. The built in tamper is nice but the auto grind, for some reason, sometimes just grinds a ton too much. I just dont see how it could be my user error given how little there is to do here on the auto setting. It was also dumping the grinds into a corner for some period for who knows why...
Ultimately, I got it on a good deal, but if I was paying this current price I would not do it. Like others said you are better off buying separate pieces. I "knew" BBB was going under and needed to burn a GC so I am happy with my purchase, but if I paid retail I would be regretful I believe. It is a rabbit hole for sure, and there are some good discussions on past coffee deals!

My wife is not picky and I am a perfectionist so if I get into making perfect espresso shots…..
I know I will drop 1k for grinder and another 1-2k for express machine then my wife will kick me out of my house hahaha. If something goes wrong with impress… probably I will convince my wife and trying to spend 1-2k for good grinder and express machine together.
Surprised to see home goods raised $50 for Breville coffee machines. It means Breville sells well at those stores.
I am not picky about making perfect espresso. Also Breville machine will give decent espresso. Actually it's better than expensive espresso machine with less trained coffee shop employees,
Impress model is all about convenience and It's exactly same with express machine.
Pro model has better system but You will take more time with temping.
I set grinder and auto grinder feature is very nice since it will stop then using built in temping feature for once or twice and ready to pull espresso.
Honestly, I don't regret to get impress instead of pro.
I am okay with the grinder even though it's weak point since I will not compete or show off making perfect espresso every days. If I pulled 45ml, I just drink those coffees instead of making another shot for perfect 38ml espresso (around 25-30 second).
