SensoDyne has potassium nitrate for sensitive teeth. It is also one of the least abrasive toothpastes out. Other toothpastes are gritty like sand and will wear out enamel over time (google pics of tooth abrasion). Carifree Gel 1100 (prev called CTx4) toothpaste is even less abrasive but much more expensive.

Here's a chart of toothpaste abrasiveness

There is also a 25% off coupon for subscribe and save on Sensodyne Intensive Repair 3 pack that I got for $13.11 after tax. After tax, it works out to be about the same per tube if this one is your preference. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

Curious. My dentist says toothpaste is toothpaste. Buy the cheapest stuff do it twice a day you're good. What exactly does this stuff do clinically that basic Crest of Colgate can't? I'm guessing for those that have some work done or have a specific issue there is a reason for this stuff.

This new tube packaging sucks. After a few uses, the soft plastic does not retain its shape so it gets difficult to open/close the cap.

My brother is a dentist.
As per him, we really don't even need toothpaste, just brushing with water is mostly enough, two times a day or more to keep the teeth healthy.
Toothpaste doesn't do much except to make it feel fresh and help some cleaning but, not required.
Now, why I said this is one of the best it's kind of subjective.
As you mentioned this may not be much different in terms of general toothpaste functionality, but I have tried almost every brand of toothpaste and in our family we still use crest and Colgate toothpaste, it's just me who uses this one, the only reason, for some reason whenever I use other brands like Crest and Colgate I developed some mouth ulcers kind of stuff and my gums get bruised.
This is the one so far which is very easy on my teeth

Interesting. I will keep these things in mind. Toothpaste is relatively inexpensive anyway and it's cheap insurance. I might give this stuff a try and see how I like it.
