Thought about it for a second, but then looked into how much it would eventually cost to make a true 5.1 system- $$$

Edit: I was wrong. It's 5.0 per specs

I personally like the sound of the Samsung soundbars more. They are considerably cheaper. The Sonos can calibrate the sound via the app running on an iOS device. If you don't have iOS devices, the Sonos are not the best choice in my opinion. Disclaimer: I have two Sonos Beam's, and 3 Samsung soundbars.
This deal is fine if you're already in the Sonos ecosystem but otherwise I'd look elsewhere at the price point.

it can see the files on my phone, but refuses to play them randomly.
app can also see the files on my NAS, but also forces me to select each files to add to a playlist. aint nobody got time to create a playlist from thousands of files. if only there's a way to select a folder and have it randomly play whatever is in the folder...
Either way if you're looking for a bar of this size I think you should take a look at the bose 600 as it has more speakers and better dolby atmos effects

One center tweeter, four elliptical midwoofers (two center, one at 45 degree angle on each side), three passive radiators (one each front left & right, one in back).
Interesting setup- don't know if I would call it a true 5.0 (more 3.0 imo)- surprised it can create such high praised sound with a single tweeter, but it does receive consistently good reviews.

For a standalone soundbar, that's debatable. I think there are better sounding options for this price, better sounding and this compact, I don't know...
But the real killer feature of this is seamless integration into Sonos' wireless whole-home audio. I have Sonos speakers in almost every room of my house: living room, kitchen, dining room, master bath, patio, garage, basement, and all guest bedrooms. Having them all connected and able to play independently or together sharing audio in perfect synch from any source is great.
