Tide Simply: huge fail according to Consumer Reports. You're getting what you're paying for. Tested 38/100.

Tide Plus Ultra Stain Release: 84/100.

Seriously though, the amount of R&D that goes into laundry detergent, dish detergent, and diapers rivals NASA. On all 3 you get what you pay for.
I no longer have babies so I don't buy diapers anymore, but i don't cheap out on laundry or dishes. I buy tide ultra oxi and cascade platinum when they go on sale bc they are worth it.
Tide ultra oxi gets out blood, chocolate, grass stains, and dirt. I've even had it get out stains even after the shirt went through the dryer. YMMV on that though.

I agree with this assessment based on my personal experience. The yellow Tide is worse than the dollar store brands in terms of performance.

Tide simply= You are basically paying for the brand name and getting some water infused with color and perfume.

Dumb question. How can you tell it doesn't clean well?

This is one category you can avoid from Walgreens! These are watered down, literally diluted and please check the quantity as well

I agree with that...but for many things this version of Tide is just fine

I usually keep two types of detergent.. a bargain brand and some higher performance stuff

Liquid fabric softener will destroy your washing machine. Don't use that crap. Don't use any of it.

What are you suggest for a softener for clothes then to make them soft and anti-shock other than dryer sheets
