It doesn't need it. I have 2 sets of these that have been holding 400-500 pounds of wood each for the last 3 years. The mounting situation on the wall is the most critical part. Mine are mounted to a cement block wall with Tapcon screws.

If you need wood storage racks, this is prolly the best option out there, especially considering the price.. I have 2 sets in my garage holding several hundred board feet of maple and walnut and I've never had an issue with them.

Wouldn't it be stronger if it was welded together? I get it that they have it separate for transportation.

sure, it'd be stronger if hey were solid too...
but what you guna do for 40$?

fwiw, the little panhead screws under each arm are doing very little when it comes to holding weight... it's all the top of the back side and bottom of the front side torqueing on the upright.

According to multiple Amazon comments this set often shows up discounted for this price. Also many have complaints about the screws holding, the angles, etc.

I'll pass on this one

Does anyone think this would work for storing inflatable paddle boards

I wish the 4 level Bora was discounted. I don't have the room (or need) for the 6 level.

I don't see why not….110lb capacity per level, but the depth of the arms are only 12.5" and they don't look angled.

it's *almost* too short to store regular surfboards so i doubt paddleboards will fit without some jury-rig extension

Leave off two levels? Cut down the risers if you must?

Have no complaints about mine. I have a full size truck rear bumper and some scrap pieces of wood on it. Not a lot of weight but it works.

I own two sets of these. They have been up for almost a year with what I assume is more weight than they should have (its mostly perminant storage for wood scrap). While they are heavy they first seemed flimsy for the purpose but at this point I feel they have been worth the price I paid ($40 range)
