I would rather get Roku than Google TV. Reason is that Roku is rock solid, and the UI is super intuitive. E.g. It takes 2-3 clicks to pair BT headphones with Roku, more like a dozen on Google TV. Also, my TCL Google TV needed 3 plug-pulls because it totally locked up, no such thing with Roku. Another thing is updates... Roku gets frequent updates, good luck with Google TV...

But I keep reading that the Google TV versions are so much slower than the Roku interface on just about any version of TV.
Google TV/Android TV is an excellent OS that was originally designed for phones and later implemented as a TV OS. It requires a fairly decent processor something most TVs lack (even top-tier) Anyone that does not like Android/Google TV needs to experience it using Nvidia Shield.

I've had to do plug pulls on my TCL roku before. Wasn't the OS, was Netflix every time. App lockups which are entirely the fault of app developers lead to plug pulls.
