Gen 2 AX (Late 2021 launch) has innate radio throughput advantages and slightly faster radio/main CPU over Gen 1 AX (2018)
This platform bridges the gap into the WIFI 7 generation which shares main CPU if using Broadcom hardware. WIFI7 will use newer/better radios.
