New Xbox and PS games are at $60, and some are starting to adopt $70 as standard.
They just always go on sale like a month after release or so, for maybe ~$50 or so. Once they pass a year, they go down to like $20-30 for a "game of the year edition"
(Nintendo rarely does anything like this, unless you count them rereleasing/remastering old titles in new boxes)
Example: Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl was $60 on release a year ago, and only recently has dropped to $40 as standard.
MW2 for the main consoles started at $70, and is now hovering around $50-60, only a month after release.
TLDR Nintendo games are actually even/cheaper on release than others. They just hold value longer as prices don't drop - other consoles drop them much more frequently.
Makes it more justifiable to pay full price on a Nintendo game than others!
It is beautiful, the gameplay is fantastic, and it masterfully makes it challenging for good players (getting everything on the levels, getting the best score on challenges, etc.) and easy for novice gamers to get through and feel that they are making progress. I had never played a Kirby game before this one and was surprised how fun it is.
Easy 5/5 even at full price.

This is the same company that notoriously and aggressively pursues legal action against anyone using their ip, from rom distros to social influencers. remember this is a publicly traded company, who must justify actions as financially beneficial to shareholders.
I prefer digital though it makes switching between games for the kiddos much faster.
