Just to let everyone know, the LATCH system in this seat is different from the Extend2Fit that I have. The latch system in the Extend2Fit that I have uses a seat belt type of connector (with the little red button). To remove the car seat, I just press the red button on the bucket/connector.

This car seat uses a metal piece of steel to connect to the vehicle's LATCH system. There isn't a red button to press.

I'm probably not explaining this properly (sorry, don't really know the terminologies as a first time dad). So below/attached is a picture showing the red button vs just the bare metal. The 2 car seats I currently have use the one on the left with the red button. This car seat uses the one on the right with just the bare metal hook. I don't know if one is safer than the other. I guess it's just a matter of convenience at the end of the day (I think). I hope this helped out some of you first time parents out there. I know I was lost and overwhelmed in the car seat world when I did my initial research.

You can buy Latch straps with those kinds of connectors with the quick release button. Without would definitely be a pain. Thanks for the heads up
Can you suggest straps of that kind?

I tried to do this on a different graco but Target won't allow to use the 20% circle coupon when you do a price match.
Find the right manager and they will. 😉

Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with any of them because my kid's car seat has the kind with the buttons. I was thinking about getting an extra for some reason a couple years ago which is when I found out the option existed.

If you just search "latch strap for car seat" on Amazon, most of the ones that come up are that type. They don't seem to have a ton of reviews though, now that I'm looking at them.

We had a bad experience with this seat, the straps were impossible to tighten in rear facing mode.

Is it because of the bare metal latch system that they use? I want to grab this, but upon further research I realized that it uses the Latch system without the red button release mechanism. Do you think that's the reason you've had a hard time with the tightening process?

No idea, but we just grabbed the Chicoo MyFit Harness + Booster.. and we love it, Exposed button to tighten the the straps is a nice win. It's a bit more of a premium price vs this one, but you can tell the upgraded quality. We got them on sale at Target for 178.
