About this title:- Author: Dr. Jason Fung
- Page Length: 327 pages
- "Today, most doctors, dietitians, and even diabetes specialists consider type 2 diabetes to be a chronic and progressive disease - a life sentence with no possibility of parole. But the truth, as Dr. Fung reveals in this paradigm-shifting book, is that type 2 diabetes is reversible.
- Writing with clear, persuasive language, he explains why conventional treatments that rely on insulin or other blood-glucose-lowering drugs can actually exacerbate the problem, leading to significant weight gain and even heart disease. The only way to treat type 2 diabetes effectively, he argues, is proper dieting and intermittent fasting - not medication."

b. There is some science out there (published studies) that indicate fasting (calorie deprivation) can help with type 2 diabetes.

I've gone through the diet and people have generally commented that I looked healthier. I can look back at past photos and also see the difference in my complexion. Fast forward to pandemic lockdowns and now I'm fatter now.
In general, getting a control over your hormones is key. Intermittent fasting is not bad and encouraged for those who need to get their fat burning hormones activated. People don't die because they don't eat. A good number of people are in a prediabetic state which is totally reversible. Read this book if you need a reminder of the power of our body's own self-regulation.
If you have diabetes, or "pre-diabetes" (which is diabetes), and don't spend $2 on this book you are an idiot.
I don't necessarily agree 100% with his mitigation approach, which is heavy on time restricted eating. I prefer low-carb for myself. But I certainly understand why he advocates that strategy, as his patient population was resistant to low-carb.
