Is there a version of this mouse that takes a AA battery instead? Still got packs of those AA battery deals I need to work though. G305 is too bottom heavy imo otherwise I would get that.

Own both + the Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed. This Steelseries is the best of the 3 IMO.
Click Latency: Receiver

11 ms - G305
15 ms - Steelseries

I'll stick with the G305 for that reason.

I have mouse from Razor/Logitech/Steelseries (This one and 650 Wireless)

Personally, 650 and this model is far the best mouse I've used.

Both model is very responsive and the click 'feel' is far better than other brands.

Especially 650, with adjustable weight, great click feel, grip, comfortable size that covers the entire palm, along with RGB and customizable buttons... nothing can compare it.

Although 650 is my go-to mouse, Rival 3 is not far behind from it (obviously from the 2~3x price difference).

If I had to recommend, try this. If you like it, consider getting their 650.
Have you upgraded the buttons?

SteelSeries also own/make Nahimic which after many years there's still no way to uninstall besides reformatting your computer and disabling Windows Update, so I would avoid SteelSeries in general now :/

What does that have to do with this mouse?

I found a page on their site explaining the test methodology. Honestly, I don't think anybody should be concerned unless their is a significant difference that would suggest a poor design or cheap component, like a few hundred ms.

"
We measure the click latency using an audio recording of when the mouse button is clicked and when the computer registers the input. Due to the system latency on the computer, this isn't an absolute value, but a relative value that you can compare between mice we've tested. We also measure the latency over different connection types."

After buying Logitech mice for years, the last few have not been the same quality. It's upsetting because I was a fan of theirs for two decades.

It looks like giving the Steel Series a try is a good idea. I don't see much downside. If I don't like it, I can return it to Amazon.

I just bought the Razer Death Adder Pro. How does this Steel Series measure up for gaming? Trying to see if I should return the Razer and get this instead for my gamer teen.

Priced down to $24.88 . For those who bought this, is the software sus like razer's (spyware) software? Does the soft touch coating melt and get sticky after time?
