This version doesn't have z-wave unlike the older August Smart Lock Pro which has wifi and z-wave.

That's been my experience, yes. Smaller cleaner look but I replace batteries quite a bit more and it uses the small 123 batteries

Pro 3rd gen didn't have wifi, it used that abysmal hub that couldn't connect to mesh networks worth a shit. But yeah, it's weird they removed z-wave support

Litterally just installed this and it malfunctioned on the first day. Got locked out and had to get a lock smith. Stick with Schlage.
