Product Description from Store:
- Auto Rewind System: The water hose reel will automatically retract back in if you give it a slight tug. The hose may be neatly rolled up without kinking thanks to the retractable and guide systems.
- High-Grid Garden Hose: The hose reel is made to be long-lasting and leak-proof with all-weather flexible and abrasion-resistant hybrid hose. Both the 116 PSI pressure test and the 600 PSI bursting pressure test were successfully completed by the 100 foot, 1/2 inch retractable hose.
- Easy to Assemble and Disassemble: Only the 180-degree rotation bracket and a few screws are needed to assemble the retractable hose reel on the wall. The reel may be quickly removed for storage using the quick-release system by simply lifting the handle.

Take home message on the Giraffe: the plastic mounting bracket was thought as the cheapest of all the retractable units. Evidently Giraffe also sells a Pro Version [amazon.com] with a metal bracket but unfortunately the unit in OP's listing is the plastic version. Also Giraffe sells a 5/8" garden hose version [amazon.com] and it get's 2 gallons per minute water flow vs. the 1/2" hose (5 gallons vs 3 gallons). It would be interesting to note if one could purchased this product and then call Giraffe CS and request the metal bracket part would they do it and how much would they charge you it.
BTW, I saw a different review video of this product and one of the take home messages was to make sure you first cut off the water to the unit and then drain all the water out of the hose before retracting it. A 100ft hose full of water significantly increases the weight of the unit and most likely it's durability. Thought I'd mention it.
Their favorites (in order) were:
1. Hoselink [amazon.com]
2. Glahoden (considered best bang for the buck) [amazon.com]
3. Gardena [amazon.com]
The video reviewer above now has a 2025 version of retractable hose reel comparison test where they concentrated on testing units that included 5/8" hoses for more water flow. That video is noted here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuuM_Yi
This time their favorite pics were:
1. Hozereel [amazon.com]
2. Himimi [amazon.com]
3. Ayelid [amazon.com]
4. Glahoden [amazon.com]
5. Gilbest [amazon.com]
6. Hoselink (only this low because of price) [amazon.com]
7. Wacotoya [amazon.com]
8. Ulnextic [amazon.com]
9. Mytol [amazon.com]
10. Giraffe [amazon.com]
11. Vevor [amazon.com]
Finally, I thought it interesting to mention that The Spruce also mentioned this unit to be the best retractable unit that they tested. [thespruce.com]

Giraffe Tools AW30 Garden Hose Reel Retractable 1/2" x 100 ft Wall Mounted Water Hose Reel Automatic Rewind, Any Length Lock, 100 ft, Dark Grey
Please be advised - this reel is equipped with a 1/2" hose. The hose is narrower than the standard 5/8". The water flow will be slower. Consider getting a different hose reel for high-flow applications.
I'm getting it to water plants in the garden. Hopefully the narrow hose will be easier for my wife to handle even if it takes a little longer to water.

I watched that video and what they don't tell you is if they were sponsored and by who. Glahoden is a no name Chinese brand, not European or anything, and has zero support. You can find reviews of it breaking, and go try to find the brand. Other reviewed were given them for free at the same time to this review, so these guys were likely sponsored by them. When it's the same price on Amazon as the one at Costco for a 5/8" 100ft, I'm going to get the one at Costco because if it breaks in 2-3 years I can get my money back if I can't get the manufacturer to fix it. With Glahoden and most of these other brands, you'll just have a $150 paperweight when someone exposed to the elements eventually fails.
I noted the smaller 1/2 hose and reduced flow in my original post but SD removed it and copypasted some marketing crap instead 🙁
