Great price makes you wonder why some people refuse to buy generic and only brand names knowing it's the same thing. A 3 month supply of Zyrtec is $40 at Walmart.

They just had a report on cetirizine that it causes extreme itching in some people if you stop using it cold turkey.

I'm not sure if this is reassuring to anyone. But I stopped it cold turkey after taking it daily for years because I had transitioned to Flonase. No itching.

Every systemic anti-histamine is like this - ask any allergist. Your body gets used to having its histamine production suppressed, so it takes a few days to ween off it. Since I'm always taking cetirizine, I never have any issues. 😁 The benefits far outweigh being uncomfortable and itchy if I ever decide to swap medications.

Harmless, & very rare (as evidenced by the fact the med has been used for 30 years & just now had enough reports to determine this).

Really? 85% 5-star, 1% 1-star. That's amazing for anything on Amazon.

Just an FYI, Cetirizine Hydrochloride is much more likely to cause drowsiness unlike loratadine, fexofenadine or desloratadine.

Whenever they have these sales in my experience, I've gotten 1 year supply bottles that are about to expire 2-3 months out. I've stopped buying from Amazon for that reason alone, but they also had a recent recall on these Amazon branded drugs cause of the manufacturer. imho Just buy it at Costco to insure it's not about to expire or get low quality manufacturing.

Costco has the generic version of Claritin for about $9-10 bucks for 365 units. I think that it is labeled AllerClear. I have no idea about which would be more effective for folks. Claritin is known to be NOT causing drowsiness.

I got a bottle last month. The expiration was March 2027, which is further out than I've gotten in a store. If i wasn't getting at least 300 days, I'd send it back.
