Excludes picking up from Walgreens. Excludes Little Clinic site and Kroger Wireless. If you receive a free trial, charges may not post to your account until the trial has lapsed. Charges must post to your account before 8/27/2025 in order to qualify. Please note if you purchase a membership, unless you notify the merchant that you want to pause, cancel, or that you do not want to auto renew, your membership will automatically renew for another membership period (subject to applicable law) of equal length (for example monthly, or annually). This means that the merchant will collect the then-applicable membership fee and any taxes by charging a credit card the merchant has on record for you without notifying you, unless notification is required by applicable law. I see there is another Amex offer for Ralph's stores listed here - so Definitely go with the Amex Offer for YOUR area stores...
If someone buys something at Ralphs or Harris Teeter, or Fred Meyers based upon clicking the Kroger Amex Offer - it SHOULD NOT work - as those are not Kroger stores - they're just under the Kroger family of stores.

What I'm not sure will work is buying a gift card on Friday like the OP posted since the coupon says gift cards are excluded:
And Kroger does know what you purchase so it would be trivial for them to exclude a gift card purchase. Of course if you were going to buy $100 in groceries, then of course you'd get the extra fuel points.
My Kroger does give 4x fuel points, just for buying certain gift cards on Fridays (or sometimes the whole weekend).
BUT, what I forgot about (and you pointed out), is that "some" gift cards are excluded from the 4x points (such as Amazon, Kroger, MC/Visa, etc...)...but most all other type of store/restaurant gift cards usually pay 4x fuel reward points.
