I own this vacuum and it's not overwhelmingly good. Not that much power and even the 5Ah batteries don't last long in it. But it's ok for a cleanup after smaller projects around the house
Wish this was the packout vacuum!

I personally love this vacuum. Just recognize its limitations to smaller jobs/spot cleaning. I have even used it a few times to clear my entire Traeger hopper of pellets when doing some repairs.

so many reviews and YouTube videos of people that really like these and those that really don't. Also questions of hose durability. Maybe they fixed the hose issue

Wouldn't the 2 batteries be worth the deal?

This is not the Packout one that is much better apparently. I picked up the Ryobi Link one for under 70 or 80 at DTO and now I highly suggest having a battery powered shop vac for the convenience

The M18 FUEL PACKOUT version was on sale yesterday, May 26th, for $190 with a hose add-on that was hackable, making it $170 for the vac.

It was Special Buy of the Day.

I'd get the Fuel one. Much stronger and it has the Packout connectivity that some people will like.

Is it worth nearly double the price for the fuel?
You can get this m18 2 gal for $85.xx if you hack it.
I am planning on using this to vacuum carpet on a boat and car.
Buy once, cry once? Or get a decent tool for cheap...

I got it back in March when it was $50 something after the hack. With the 8 and 12 ah forge batteries it works pretty good, but with 6 ah high output and regular M18 batteries it is pretty weak. The packout has the option of using a bag with it and would be more expensive to use but it would be less messy than using the pleated filter alone.

Well, I went for it because I need a portable shop vac and this morning they canceled my vac despite the website saying 15 were in stock at the location.
To hack the deal, I selected two different store pick up locations. They canceled the part I wanted, but the batteries were available for pick up at the other location.
I was going to have the vac shipped to my house and select pick up and then cancel the batteries, but the app wouldn't let me check out with a delivery and pick up.
I think these cancellations might be store dependant. I have a feeling they know what's going on with deal hacks and don't want to put in (potential) extra work.

I have the Gen 1 and it's very loud, enough to make me grab earmuffs. Even the 6gal is a lot quieter. Are these newer versions still loud?

The packout fuel is quieter to save your ears. It also has better suction & hose that doesn't tear. Plus, I like the hose on the outside for convenience, but homey depot never wants to sale price them for some reason 🙄

I was waiting for a deal and purchased one for $99 using the 2 store pick up hack and cancelling the batteries after picking up the vac. Thank you OP!
