The whole deal with etch a sketch was the hard as hell 2 dial ergonomics. This is just drawing...
You can always tell it's a quality product when they use stock photos and blatantly photoshop in their products.
This one is kid friendly with large frame.

Your link would be destroyed in 5 minutes or less by your average 3-5 year old. Also, it is very utilitarian and not kid friendly.

Is this any good? There are cheaper ones that are bigger, like this one. I wonder how they compare

I disagree.

I've given my then 2 year old one of the ones like the link and he's used it on and off for a year. I think mine were 2 pack for $10

My kids got those and they were great!! They were ages 3 and 6 and it was fine! It was definitely a two pack like how another user wrote. For what it was, they lasted about a year until the batteries died (they used the flat batteries) and only one of them got pushed on a little hard. They still worked though until the batteries died. It's not the worst option at all. Smilie

D rating for that bigger one on Fakespot

D rating for the Etch a Sketch version too.
Looks like the manufacturers should go back to "the drawing board". 🤔

So, kind of sketchy?

Mixed reviews on Target, too.

it's a good concept but reading the reviews it sounds like it breaks and just adds to ewaste. is there any higher quality option or durable?

I have a similar one to the one you linked and it is very dim.

We have this. I would highly recommend for young kids. There is no shaking and no turning wheels. The pen has a tip on one end and a brush on the other (it flips). There is a small button on the back, when pressed, clears the whole screen.
